Dr. phil. en sociologie, Dr. habil en anthropologie culturelle et en ethnologie europénne et Dr. h.c. auprès de la faculté de Lettres de l'Université de Timisoara (Roumanie), le Professeur Giordano est Professeur ordinaire de la Chaire d'Anthropologie Sociale de l'Université de Fribourg.

Depuis 1989 le Prof. Dr. Christian Giordano est Professeur Ordinaire auprès de la Chaire d'Anthropologie Sociale de l'Université de Fribourg. Depuis lors, il intervient également en tant que Professeur invité et Directeur de projets de recherche dans différents pays.
