Dr. phil. in Soziologie, Dr. habil in Kulturanthropologie und Europäischer Ethnonologie und Dr. h.c. an der Philosophisch-Historischen Fakultät der Universität Timisoara (Rumänien), ist ordentlicher Professor am Seminar für Sozialanthropologie.

politische und ökonomische Anthropologie, Ethnizität, Nationalismus, Staatsbürgerschaft, ländliche Umstrukturierung in Südosteuropa (Rumänien, Bulgarien, Albanien), in Mitteleuropa (Polen, Baltische Staaten), Politische Kultur im Mittelmeerraum (Süditalien, Andalusien, Alentejo, Griechenland).

Curriculum vitae:

Seit 1989 ist Prof. Dr. Christian Giordano ordentlicher Professor für Sozialanthropologie an der Universität Fribourg. Zudem wirkt er seitdem in verschiedensten Ländern als Gastprofessor und Leiter von Forschungsprojekten.
