Exmatriculation

Students who have completed or decide to interrupt their studies must exmatriculate.

Voluntary exmatriculation

Requests for exmatriculation are carried out at MyData. Once your request has been handled an attestation of exmatriculation will be made available at MyData.

Consequences of exmatriculation

If you have exmatriculated, you are not allowed to follow courses, exercises or seminars, practical work, hand in written work, register for examinations or use the university facilities.

Automatic exmatriculation

You will be automatically exmatriculated if:

  • you do not pay the semester tuition fee until the 15th October for the autumn semester and the 15th March for the spring semester;
  • you have sustained 2 definitive failures;
  • you have accomplished the six-semester period of registration obligatory for post-doctoral students;
  • you were still registered in the semester after the defence of your doctoral thesis.

Reimbursement of the semester tuition fee

If you have already paid the semester tuition fee for the semester when you exmatriculate, you can request reimbursement within the official deadlines.
